24 Aug The Story of Us
Turn back the clock to August 1998. There’s an old semi in Bondi Junction that’s waiting to be rented. It needs a fresh lick of paint, has a mould problem and its front yard is literally a jungle out there…
Enter, stage left, podiatrist Russel Rubin, a lecturer at UWS Podiatry School, who decides to open a podiatry practice in said location. He christens it footinjuryclinic. No secretary, one telephone, a fax machine and hand-written notes. Russel starts making orthotics in the semi’s converted kitchen and the business starts thriving. Podiatrist Trevor Proskewitz joins footinjuryclinic in 2001. Together, they take things up a notch, buying and renovating the current Ebley Street practice. The rest, as they say, is history…
Today, footinjuryclinic is recognised as the biggest podiatry clinic in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, with branches in St. Ives and a recent joint venture with the Barangaroo Orthopaedic and Sports Injury Clinic. We have purpose-built surgeries facilitating laser technology, Swift microwave treatments for warts and verrucas, and a state of the art in-house orthotic lab. We are the pioneers in 3D scanning and milling technology.
When you visit us, you are looked after by the super-friendly and efficient Les, Judy and Tom who make sure our day-to-day business runs smoothly.Over the years, Russel and Trevor have treated over 20,000 families, including many professional athletes and teams, but they always put their local patients first. In fact, four out five of Russel’s first patients from 20 years ago still attend footinjuryclinic!
As our tagline says, we are serious about feet.
