Do you have a fungal nail infection (onychomycosis) and are embarrassed to wear open-toed shoes, sandals and flip-flops due to your unsightly toenails? We can help. footinjuryclinic is happy to announce that our podiatrists are now using Lunula Laser – a brand new treatment to eliminate fungal nail infections. It is a non-thermal, non-invasive and pain-free procedure.
The foot is a complex structure of 26 bones and 35 joints, held together and supported by scores of ligaments. A baby’s foot is padded with fat and is highly flexible. Children begin to walk anywhere between eight and 18 months of age. Most toddlers are flat-footed when they first start walking, or tend to turn their feet inwards, because of poor muscle tone and weak ligaments in their feet.
Over the years, Russel Rubin and Trevor Proskewitz have treated many professional sports persons from different sporting codes for a range of foot and ankle injuries from Achilles tendonitis, bunions, runner’s knee, plantar fasciitis, athlete’s foot to shin splints and heel pain. What’s more, between the two of them, they have competed in many marathons, ultra distance races and triathlons.
The footinjuryclinic in St Ives is one of the only clinics in the Sydney area that makes use CAD/CAM technology for designing and manufacturing foot orthoses. The precision Orthema system is Swiss made and provides us with the ability to provide patients with foot orthoses within one hour if required.
A bunion is commonly referred to as a “bump” on the joint at the base of the big toe, the metatarsophalangeal (MTP) joint that forms when the bone or tissue at the big toe joint moves out of place. The toe is forced to bend toward the others, causing an often painful lump of bone on the foot. Call today for treatment.
Gait analysis is the systematic study of human motion, using the eye and the brain, augmented by instrumentation for measuring body movements, body mechanics, and the activity of the muscles. Gait analysis is used to assess, plan, and treat individuals with conditions affecting their ability to walk or run.
