24 Jul Our Podiatrists at footinjuryclinic
Chances are, you think of going to a podiatrist only after you’ve experienced pain or discomfort in your feet or ankles and it is disrupting your daily life. If you live in or around Bondi Junction, you’ve probably seen the name of our podiatry practice footinjuryclinic. Yes, our podiatrists Russel Rubin and Trevor Proskewitz first set up shop in Bondi Junction in August 1998 – that’s 26 years ago! Our first clinic was quite different (and a few streets away) from our current practice – you can read more here, but our ethos to help Sydney locals get back on their feet (literally!) remains the same. Today, we have 3 convenient clinics across Sydney at Bondi Junction, Barangaroo, and St Ives.
Who is a Podiatrist?
A podiatrist (formerly called a chiropodist) is a medical professional trained to diagnose and treat conditions affecting the foot, ankle, and related structures of the leg. Their expertise encompasses a wide range of conditions, from minor ailments like bunions to complex interventions for chronic health issues like arthritis and diabetic foot ulcers.

How our Podiatrists Can Help
Diagnosis and Treatment
Our podiatrists are skilled in diagnosing various foot and ankle problems using their expert clinical evaluations and the latest imaging techniques and tests. Treatment plans may involve medication, physical therapy, orthotic devices that we customise and craft in-house, or surgical interventions that are tailored to the patient’s specific needs.
Preventive Care
Regular check-ups with our podiatrists can help prevent the development of serious conditions. They provide guidance on proper foot care, footwear selection (e.g. for sports and school), and lifestyle modifications (e.g. diabetic foot ulcers) to maintain optimal foot health.
Rehabilitation
Post-surgical and injury rehabilitation is another critical area where podiatrists contribute. They design and oversee rehabilitation programs (e.g. sports injuries) to ensure proper healing and restore functionality.
Management of Chronic Conditions
For individuals with chronic conditions like diabetes, arthritis, or circulatory disorders, podiatrists offer specialised care to manage symptoms and prevent complications such as ulcers or infections.
